Despite being the career leader in goals against Minnesota Wild, Jarome Iginla hadn't scored one in 10 games. He certainly broke out of his slump in a big way. Iginla recorded his 10th career hat trick -- his third against Minnesota -- and Vesa Toskala made 27 saves in his first start since being traded to Calgary as the Flames beat the Wild 5-2 on Sunday.

The Calgary Flames found their scoring touch -- at the expense of Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils. Daymond Langkow, Curtis Glencross and Eric Nystrom scored second-period goals, and Miikka Kiprusoff made 22 saves in Calgary's 5-3 victory Friday night. Niklas Backstrom upstaged Miikka Kiprusoff after backing up the Calgary Flames star for Finland in the Olympics. Backstrom made 29 saves for his second shutout of the NHL season and Mikko Koivu and Andrew Brunette each had a goal and an assist in the Minnesota Wild's 4-0 victory over the Flames on Wednesday.

The Edmonton Oilers traded defenseman Steve Staios to the Calgary Flames on Wednesday in a deal between two of the NHL's biggest rivals. The Flames acquired the 36-year-old defenseman for 26-year-old defenseman Aaron Johnson and a third-round draft pick in either 2010 or 2011 before the NHL trade deadline.
